So no excuses. No matter what you’re into when it comes to celebrating love we have it all!

1 – Take A Tour of Malibu Wines

Malibu Wine VW Bus Tour

Description:

What’s more romantic then going wine tasting? For those of us who live in Los Angeles one of the best places to go wine tasting is at Malibu Wines.

The beautiful massive property offers a variety of tours, including in a 4×4, a VW Bus, a walking group hike, or a private hike.

With over 70,000 vines on a 1,000 acres deep in the Malibu mountains this winery is a sight to behold. But it also has so many hidden gems and rich history making a tour with one of their experts to guide you a must experience.

Because of the gorgeous views, ambience and of course delicious wine its the perfect setting for a romantic day. The VW Bus or 4×4 are probably the most adventurous options but you will need some friends to join for a group date. For the private hike with your own tour guide there is a minimum requirement of 10 people but if you just want it to be you and your date in your group you can join the group hike. This is also the least expensive option at only $49.

One thing to note is that they are pretty popular the days right around Valentines but if they are sold out you should still be able to secure a reservation sometime in the month of love.

You can book tickets to any of the Malibu Wine Experiences directly from us on our website.

Location: 32111 Mulholland Hwy, Malibu WInes

2 – Dinner at a Romantic Restaurant

Description:

Dinning at a romantic restaurant on Valentine’s day is probably one of the most popular things to do on this special day.  So how to make this – must do every year thing –  a bit more unique? How about being a little adventurous and show your loved some new flavors, or a change of scenery.

Our best recommendations for this year Valentine’s dinning experiences include Inn of the Seven Ray, we vote this restaurant as one of the most romantic.  Take your other half to this magical spot and dine by candlelight under the stars.  Enjoy waterfalls and winding brick pathways to make Valentine’s day a fairytale type of evening.  And lets not forget the food here is amazing!

Another one in our list is of course Geoffrey’s in Malibu, with romantic and magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and cliffs.  Waterfalls, tropical plants and candlelight, will make your dinner experience among the most beautiful ones.

Other recommendations include rooftops in LA such as Perch, The Wayfarer, Mamas Shelter and 71Above.   If you want more spectacular and romantic views we recommend to celebrate Valentine’s at Yamashiro, Castaway or visit The Restaurant at the Getty Center.

5 – Get Away for Valentine’s

Description:

You know we love getaways here at LifehacksLA and that’s because there is so many awesome places to see near LA.  So on Valentine’s day we also recommend you take an adventurous romantic getaway.

One of our top recommendation during the month of love is Temecula.  Here you can find everything to celebrate Valentine’s at its best, with romantic private carriage rides, winery tours and picnics, hot air balloon rides, Casino fun, and luxury Spas.

Next on our list is Catalina Island of course, because what is more romantic than an island gateway? Catalina with its beauty and welcoming vibes is the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day and it doesn’t hurt that its a just a ferry ride away.  Enjoy beautiful hotels, bed and breakfast fun spots, hikes, marvelous views, and water activities.

Other recommendations for a V-Day getaway that is much closer is Terranea in Palos Verdes. This beautiful resort is a great place to visit because of its gorgeous views, luxurious surroundings and the properties restaurants offer great food and drinks. Its really expensive to stay here but here is a little hack. You can just visit for the day and enjoy walking the Ocean side property before stopping at one of their amazing restaurants or bars for drinks with a view.

Want a few more romantic quick getaways ideas? Visits to Ojai, Big Bear, Laguna Beach or Santa Barbara are all high on our list and within 2 hours of Los Angeles.
