When its another countries holiday, we love to use it as an excuse to do lots of drinking here in the U.S. For example Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo, Ireland’s St. Paddy’s Day and of course the Fall favorite Germany’s Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest is a raucous good time full of tall steins of your favorite German beers and huge plates of juicy sausages and brats.
Los Angeles makes sure you don’t miss out on the Bavarian good times with Oktoberfest celebrations all over the city.
In this blog post we list some of the best and most famous ones.
1 – The Alpine Village
Description:
The Alpine Village is the classic on our list. Located in Torrance it does not just pop up in October to take advantage of Oktoberfest celebrations. Its there year round for people to come and enjoy German food, beer and culture.
But in October on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday they also throw the oldest Oktoberfest in all of California. This year 2019 the event’s theme is Throwback Oktoberfest, commemorating their 51st anniversary.
If you love Oktoberfest you can’t go wrong celebrating at this classic spot. Lots of good food, music, German beer and a full bar!
Friday and Saturday 21+ only and Sunday all ages are welcome.

2 – Big Bear Oktoberfest
Description:
The mountain town of Big Bear is ready to party!! They have been throwing there annual event for 49 years now but for the first time in 2019 there will be authentic German music bands playing live!
Plenty of mouthwatering German brats and knockwursts, and beer for you to go wild and celebrate one of the most popular annual events in Big Bear.

3 – Fairplex Oktoberfest
Description:
The Fairplex is home to the LA County Fair and is used to throwing big events.
Its no different for their annual Oktober Fest Party. The 2019 version will again have authentic German food and beer, games, games with prizes more beer and all the Bavarian music you can wish for.
It’s open every Friday and Saturday from October 4 until October 19 from 6 pm to midnight. Parking is $15. This event is for adults only.

4 – WirstHaus
Description:
One of the best ways to celebrate Oktober Fest is of course at an authentic German restaurant.
The Wirtshaus, is exactly that! A local LA authentic German Restaurant with a Biergarten and Bar!
And of course they are stepping it up with Oktoberfest with all the music and beer you could hope for.
The party will run every weekend until the last one happening on the last Saturday of October. There is no cover charge to get in.

5 – Wurstküche
Description:
With the Wurstkuche Venice Oktober Fest 2019, you have the opportunity for 4 consecutive weekends where you and your buddies can delight your palate with some good German food and drinks.
Girls will be yodeling, the beer will be flowing and genuine German bands will be playing live.
Your ticket includes a liter mug filled with beer!
