November 2021 Events in Los Angeles You Dont Want to Miss

 

Summer is long done and now that Halloween is over, you might be wondering what there is to do in LA this November?

Well don’t worry because this is the home of entertainment and even the month between 2 of our biggest holidays, Halloween and Christmas, there is still plenty to do in the month of November. We put together a pretty cool list of events you don’t want to miss, from turkey trots to museums exhibits, lights show and more.

In this article you will find a list of great suggestions to add to your own November in LA bucket list and we have things you can do solo or with a group of people.

1 – Turkey Trot Los Angeles (for charity)

Description:

Ready for a Turkey Trot?  Get your good running sneakers ready and join this charity event on Thanksgiving morning.  Feel good knowing you are doing something great for your physical health while you make a positive impact in someone else’s life, as this Midnight Mission event helping those who are experiencing homelessness.

Also what better way can you think of to offset the thousands of calories you will no doubt devour later in the day?

The trot is on November 25th from 8:00 AM to Noon.  Everyone’s welcome to participate in the 5k or 10k race.  There is also a 1 mile widdle wobble kids race.  Packet pick up will be at 1st Street between Spring St. and Main St. and it starts at 6:45 am on the day of the race.  Register on line at TurkeyTrotLA.

There will be tons of enthusiastic Angelinos ready to trot so be sure to arrive early.

2 – Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit

Van Gogh Exhibit Los Angeles

Description:

This is an animated projection of Van Gogh’s most popular paintings that is currently in about 20 U.S. cities including Los Angeles.  This super large immersive experience involves a 500,000 cubic feet of monumental projections animating Vincent Van Gogh’s magnificent works of art that include Bedroom in Arles and Starry Night.

Massimiliano Siccardi created this fascinating digital art experience, with the soundtrack by Luca Longobardi.  The story is voiced by actor Colm Feore. Another cool thing about the Los Angeles Van Gogh’s exhibit is its happening at the old iconic Amoeba Records building on Sunset.

3 – Lightscape the Arboretum

Description:

The Los Angeles Arboretum is ready to bring Holiday joy back to those who like a good light show.  Its become popular in recent years for local arboretums to transform the gardens into illuminated wonderlands and that’s exactly what Lightscape at the LA Arboretum does.

Late November is a good time to come on down and take a look of this magical illuminated experience as it gets pretty busy in December and may even sell out.  Lightscape is a self guided, family friendly walking event that begins on November 12 and runs until January 16.

You can purchase tickets online, if you are a member of the Arboretum your ticket is $29 and $17 for kids 3 to 12 years old on peak times.

Non member tickets are $32 and $20 for kids 3 to 12 years old.  Prices are subjected to days and times you choose to visit.

4 – The LA Auto Show

LA Auto Show 2021

Description:

How close are we to not having to ever drive our own cars anymore? We might be a few years away from completely driverless cars but if you want to find the latest in automobile tech and go gaga over supercars we have the event for you.

The annual LA Auto Show is returning again this year to the LA Convention Center starting on November 19.

During this event visitors can get free test drives, shop for a new vehicle, experience the latest tech, explore customized supercars and even meet celebrities from the automotive industry.

The test drives are included in your ticket but it might be worth the extra cost because there will be a 45,000 square foot track area.

Also, if you are a super auto geek you can grab autographs from automotive world celebrities and icons who will be greeting visitors.

5 – The Obama Portraits Tour

Obama Portraits Tour LA

Description:

The Obama portraits were first unveiled in February 2018 at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.

Since that time the museum’s official portraits of President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama have become iconic and generated lots of interest for people who want a closer look at them.

These remarkable portraits of President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama will be on a 5 city tour giving millions who other wise might not have the chance, the ability to come see them.

Los Angeles turn comes from November 7th until January 2nd with their display at the beloved LACMA museum.

The LACMA presentation of the Obama portraits will also feature teacher workshops, curatorial tours and books.

This exhibition is included in your general LACMA admission ticket which is $25 dollars.

Members have access to preview dates on November 4-6.

LA county residents can visit the museum for free on weekdays after 3 pm.
