Whether you’re a local or just visiting, March in LA offers endless opportunities for adventure, and exploration with the great weather and a terrific calendar of activities. And of course in the entertainment capital of the world thers is so much to do and you can find fun festivals, incredible food, and fun drinks.
1 – Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
Description:
Here are some recommendations for all of you looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in LA. On March 16th from 11am to 1pm take part in the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This fun annual event just steps from the beach features unique vehicles, a Lucky Rainbow installation to take awesome pictures and selfies, music, food, drinks, plenty of green attire, and cool nonprofit vendors so you can take some goodies home.
Join the Original Farmers Market in Mid City celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Friday March 17th with Irish inspired food, green beer and live music. No St. Patrick’s Day celebration is complete without green beer and Irish whiskey. The market’s bars and restaurants will be serving up all your favorites.
And Magee’s Kitchen, the historic Market’s very first eatery, will be serving their world famous corned beef, cabbage and potato plate all day long! For live music fun there will be Bagpipers making appearances around the Market from 12:30 to 3:30pm.

2 – Kite Festivals
Description:
The skies above Redondo Beach will be filled with color and wonder on Sunday, March 10th, 2024, as the 50th annual Festival of the Kite takes flight. This free community event is a beloved tradition that celebrates the joy and artistry of kite flying.
In addition to the kite flying, there will be a variety of other activities to enjoy at the festival. Listen to live music by 1969, try your luck at the Craig’s Hot Dog on a Stick Eating Contest, or browse the many vendor booths.
Visit Redondo on this special day to participate in the many contests, including highest-flying kite, best handmade kite.. Or, simply relax on the beach and soak up the festive atmosphere.
For more kite flying fun celebrate Guyanese Culture and Tradition at the 40th Annual Kite Flying Festival. This fun event takes place on March 31st at Joan Milke Flores Park in San Pedro. Come and immerse yourself in Guyanese culture, and enjoy yummy food and great music.

3 – Wine and Food Fest Santa Monica Pier
Description:
LA Foodies and Wine lovers get ready for a Wine and Food Festival popping up in Santa Monica Pier! From Friday March 1st until Sunday March 3rd, the city of Santa Monica brings an unparalleled culinary experience featuring 90 participating chefs.
This fantastic festival brings you 16 incredible and talented headliners including chef Ben Ford, chef and owner of Ford’s Filling Station in Culver City, and yes he’s one of Harrison Ford’s sons. Also during this event, there will be a special dedication to showcasing the talents of female-owned restaurants in LA.
This event is described by its organizers as a culinary celebration of California’s places, people, and produce in collaboration with art and entertainment. 4 – Dana Point Festival of Whales
Description:
Get ready for an epic adventure filled with ocean wonders and coastal charm! The 53rd Annual Dana Point Festival of Whales is set to take place from March 1st to 3rd, 2024, transforming the picturesque Dana Point Harbor into a hub of celebration and appreciation for the majestic gray whales.
The heart of the festival revolves around celebrating the return of the California gray whales as they embark on their annual migration journey from Baja California to Alaska. Dana Point, aptly nicknamed the “Dolphin & Whale Watching Capital of the World®,” offers some of the best vantage points to witness these gentle giants breaching, splashing, and frolicking in the Pacific Ocean.
This event also brings an entire set of fun activities for the whole family including great food and drinks, classic cars, and concerts. If parking is a concern, don’t worry, there will be shuttles available at seven stops and running from 10am until 4pm.

5 – The Mean Girls Experience
