As the weather gets warmer and we get ready for the official start of Spring later in the month brace yourself for an exciting time filled with thrilling events and entertainment suitable for people of all ages.

Our team has cherry-picked some of the most unforgettable happenings in the city just for you and your loved ones. From first-time exhibitions to annual festivals, prepare to be wowed by the range of exciting activities.

1 – Redondo Beach Kite Fest

Description:

Everyone is welcome to this very family friendly event at Redondo Beach Pier on March 12th.  Bring your fun kite and show your skills on this day, a kid’s favorite fest.

Spectators enjoy looking up towards the sky as all the wonderful displays of creativity and color dance around with the wind.  Expect to see all kinds of kites of all sizes and colors.

If you don’t have a kite, you can purchase one from one of the vendors at the pier.  For a more fun experience, we do recommend you take the time to find a good quality kite prior to the event.  This is an alcohol and smoke free fest, it’s free and it starts at noon on Sunday March 12th.

While you are here, enjoy one of the many other great activities at Redondo Beach pier with the fam.  Take a paddle boat around the marina and listen to the California sea lions barking near the boats, or have a bite at one of the many wonderful restaurants including the popular fish market Quality Seafood on the lower pier.

2 – Knott’s Boysenberry Fest

Description:

Knott’s Berry Farms Boysenberry Fest is back commemorating its long lasting history with the tasty fruit its best know for and this year the fun starts on March 10th. Everyone is welcome at this fun family fest that runs until April 16th.

This limited time food inspired event features boysenberry flavored and infused dishes and deserts.  Also, wines and craft beers with a boysenberry twist, only available at Knott’s this time of year.

Stroll around the park, and take great pictures with all the boysenberry flare.  Also, enjoy your food and drinks while watching stage shows, or listening to live music.

Your kids will love to visit Snoopy and have fun with all the activities available for guests of all ages on this day.  Local booth vendors will be there also with their crafts, and sweet treats, including the famous boysenberry Knott’s jam.

3 – Festival of Whales

Description:

Do you and your family enjoy whale and dolphin excursions? This is the time to book a trip then as this is the migration time for our California grey whales, so it’s more likely you will spot them during your visit.

Gorgeous Dana Point is celebrating the awe inspiring migration with a full calendar of event for all ages.  Come to the beautiful Dana Point harbor on March 4th 5th as its known for being one of the best places in California to witness this natural marvel.

The kickoff ceremony and reception will be held at Ocean Institute on March 3rd starting at 4:45 pm.  The magical migration parade is on March 4th and it begins at 8:00 am.  Also on that day, there will be a clam chowder cook off at Baby Beach, tickets are only $10 and you get to taste them all.

4 – St Patrick’s Day in LA

Description:

What’s going on for St Patrick’s Day? LA has big plans as usual to celebrate this fun day dedicated to partying.  So get on your green attire and head to one of this years many fun events and venues.

Hermosa Beach is back again hosting their popular annual St Patrick’s Day parade.  Go check out the green spirit around Hermosa beach pier on March 11th.  The parade will display unique vehicles all dressed up for the occasion, moving through Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue, starting at 11:00 am.

Hollywood bar crawls.  Over 10 bars in the wild streets of Hollywood will be participating this year in this fun event on March 17th and 18th.  If you want to party on the westside go visit Santa Monica St Paddy’s weekend happy hour on March 18th starting at 3:00 pm.

5 – Bob Marley – One Love Experience

Description:

Discover a music and cultural icon at this sensational exhibit dedicated to the legendary artist Bob Marley at The Ovation in Hollywood.  This is a true journey through Bob Marley’s life and legacy.  It is called the Bob Marley One Love Exhibit and if you’re a fan (and who isn’t?) you will be amazed by the massive 15,000 square feet exhibition.

Learn about this iconic artists personal interests, and enjoy some images you have likely never seen before no matter how big of a fan you are.  This exhibit is designed for the viewers to have a multisensory experience, so you will dive through multiple rooms featuring a great variety of art, pictures, and memorabilia. Made in collaboration with the Marely family and foundation you will see priceless and personal artifacts that have never been exhibited in public before.

The rooms include a forest of love.  This is a space surrounded by green and lush ambiance, swings, and cool lights that will make your pictures pop up, no doubt.  Music room, displaying impressive murals, a giant size vinyl and other surprises for you to appreciate in this tour.

Bob Marley One Love Experience is here in LA for the very first time, and only for a limited time.  So “Let’s Get Together” and don’t miss out on this phenomenal event for all ages.
