Sunken City

Natural landslide in 1929 caused several beachside homes in San Pedro, CA, to slide into the ocean.

In 1929, a landslide in San Pedro, California, caused a neighborhood of exclusive homes to tumble into the ocean. Today, the area is called “Sunken City” by locals.

It now is filled with graffiti and looks like a really cool post-apocalyptic wasteland.

To reach Sunken City go to Point Fermin Park. On the far left of the park you will see some gates and a restricted area. Climb or go under the fence to enter.

Warning: It is technically trespassing! You could get a ticket if caught entering.
