Developed in the 1800s this historic village is well known for its enduring charm and pretty homes with historical architecture. Larchmont Village is a lovely tree-lined street with a small-town community feel right in the heart of LA.

The village shopping area is very pedestrian-friendly and you can stroll around with your dog too.  A good number of stores and restaurants in the area allow dogs.

You can find tons of great restaurant options in Larchmont along with independent bookstores and also vintage boutiques packed with charm and beauty.

The coffee shops are even remarkable, with choices like Go Get Em Tiger and thier out of this world almond macadamia milk latte!

1 – Robert Burns Park

Description:

Some of the best features of this park are the great location and the shady and clean play area for kids.  It is conveniently located on the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Van Ness Ave.

This park attracts locals and visitors who want to enjoy some outdoor time, the playground for the kids is safe and clean, and it offers good shade, ideal for a hot LA day.

You can grab a book from one of the bookstores at the village or a snack from one of the delicious restaurants and come picnic at the park.

Or bring your mat and do some free yoga!

This Larchmont landmark pizzeria uses all fresh ingredients, and the pizza crust is prepared daily.

One of the things that makes this pizzeria so popular is all the savory juicy flavors in their homemade sausage, meatballs, and marinara sauce.  Their special house recipes which include clam mixture, pesto, and fresh garlic, make it a must-stop on any visit to Larchmont Village.

3 – Chevalier’s Books

Description:

It is not that easy to find independent bookstores these days.  But if you still enjoy stopping by a local neighborhood bookstore that is family and even dog friendly, then you want to check out Chavalier’s in Larchmont Village.

This compact bookstore has been a local favorite for a long time.  It provides author events and signing books and also storytime for kids on Saturdays and Sundays.

No wonder at a time when book stores are disappearing its sill considered a Larchmont neighborhood gem.

5 – Salt & Straw Larchmont Village

Salt and Straw Larchmont

Description:

Since we are spoiling you lets end this trip with some delicious Deseret. Salt & Straw is a small-batch ice cream company that has been the love of locals since it first opened in LA back in 2014.

This delicious artisan ice cream got so popular the Portland-based brand has opened several more locations around LA since it first opened in Larchmont.

Which means this Larchmont Village location was the first shop the owners opened outside of Portland!

Don’t leave the village without a visit to this ice cream shop.  Enjoy house-made cones and delicious Portland monthly ice cream flavors, or Los Angeles classics which include honey-lavender, roasted strawberry-toasted white chocolate, James coffee and bourbon, and much more.
