Koreatown revolves around a 3 square-mile dense concrete jungle where bright neon signs in Korean and Spanish line the streets.
Located between East Hollywood, Los Feliz, and Mid-City, its central location, density, and diversity makes it a walkable cluster of bars, restaurants, clubs, and dessert.
These are some of the recommendations we have for Koreatown.
It represents how our city loves to come together from different backgrounds and ethnicities to eat great food, drink Korean soju, and have memorable times with good company.
1 – Line Hotel and OpenAire
Description:
The Line Hotel is a renovated and colorful modernist hotel and landmark located in the heart of Koreatown, making it a great place to stay if you’re visiting from out of town!
With panoramic views of Los Angeles right from your room to its very own rooftop pool, it’s a good representation of the LA life: slow pace, good weather, and good food!

Stop by for some Alfred’s Coffee in the morning or it’s very own fresh brunch greenhouse with Michelin Star Chef, Josiah Citrin!
You have to check out Line Hotel and hang out there even if you’re not staying there!
2 – Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong
Description:
Kang Ho Dong is a famous Korean wrestler turned comedian turned game show host turned restaurateur, but don’t let that fool you!
Baekjeong is renowned as an essential stop for any night out in Koreatown, especially if Korean BBQ is involved.

Hack:
Their combos are perfect for groups and you get it grilled right in front of your eyes!
But be warned, its reputation precedes itself so expect to wait a bit on weekends!
3 – The Wiltern
Description:
The Wiltern is a relic of Koreatown’s old days as the backyard of Hollywood, but actually it was originally the Warner Brothers Western Theater.
Koreatown’s most iconic landmark is instantly recognizable with its teal, Art Deco exterior, while it’s ornate and colorful interior is sure to take your breath away, while taking you back in time.

Hack:
Some of the world’s biggest artists have played at the Wiltern so whether or not you’re seeing a show, it’s definitely is a legendary venue to check out, especially if you love architecture!
4 – Wi Spa
Description:
Koreatown is home to a number of Korean spas where people can sit and relax in steam rooms, get in cold pools, get a massage, or take a nap.
One of the most well-known spots in Koreatown is Wi Spa, which was featured on the Conan O’Brien show!
It’s definitely a cleansing experience, sweating the toxin outs, while loosening your tightened muscles after a stressful week.

Be sure to check out their cafeteria for refreshing and delicious foods!
5 – OB Bear
Description:
A favorite Korean bar for locals, OB Bear is the spot where Dodgers fan will congregate on a game night, where old friends would catch up over some beer, and the place where you get to know the names of the regulars.
It’s intimate and homely interior definitely adds to the casual ambiance that makes it the perfect place for a low-key night out in Koreatown.

Hack:
A staple that always comes with a pitcher of beer is some Korean Fried Chicken and OB Bear’s chicken is definitely a must try.
6 – StrikeZon
Description:
One of Koreatown’s newest attractions is StrikeZon, a screen batting cage, bar, and restaurant all in one!
A ball- throwing machine pitches you a real ball, and will automatically sense whether or not you hit a single, double, or even a home run!
Whether you want to see who the best pitcher/batter is, or play a full 9 innings, it’s a great time over some cold beer and delicious finger foods.

Hack:
This venue can get really crowded on the weekend and you rent the cage by the hour. Try coming during the weekdays with larger groups or be sure to reserve in advance!
7 – Oakobing
Description:
A popular Korean dessert staple is the shaved ice or BingSu.
It’s a favorite way for locals to cool down from LA’s year-round heat, to enjoy some fluffy and sweet shaved ice with fresh toppings.
Oakobing is synonymous with shaved ice in Koreatown, and their statement “not a one-time transactional experience; it’s a relationship” is shown in their use of quality ingredients and their meticulous process of bringing it all together.

Hack:
Everything you get from Oakobing is a treat because of the texture of their shaved rice, rather than just the flavor. Just be careful of the brain freeze, and the possible side effect of coming back to Oakobing every day!
