Get ready to witness some breathtaking celestial events this year. From dazzling meteor showers to awe-inspiring lunar displays, the night sky above Los Angeles has plenty in store for stargazers.

You probably already know that meteor showers occur when Earth passes through debris fields left by comets or asteroids. As these tiny particles enter the atmosphere, they burn up, creating streaks of light across the sky.

The beauty of meteor showers though, lies in their unpredictability—while forecasts provide a peak rate, every shower holds the potential for surprise bursts of activity.

Don’t miss your best opportunity to see these gorgeous displays with our guide below.

1 –  Quadrantids (January 3-4)

Griffith Park Stargazing

Description:

  • Peak Night: January 3
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 120 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: After midnight to pre-dawn

The Quadrantids are known for their bright meteors and short peaks. In 2025, a nearly full moon will challenge visibility, but bright meteors can still cut through.

While perhaps less famous than the Perseids or Geminids, the Quadrantids can offer a dazzling display of “shooting stars” for those willing to brave the winter chill.  Head to Griffith Park or Malibu for darker skies.

Viewing Tip: Focus on the northeastern sky near the constellation Bootes.

2 – Lyrids (April 21-22)

Topanga Stargazing

Description:

  • Peak Night: April 21
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 20 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: Midnight to pre-dawn

The Lyrids are one of the oldest documented meteor showers, and in 2025, they will benefit from minimal moonlight. Escape the city glow by driving to Topanga State Park or the Santa Monica Mountains.

Viewing Tip: Look for the radiant near the constellation Lyra, which contains the bright star Vega.

3 – Eta Aquarids (May 5-6)

Malibu Stargazing

Description:

  • Peak Night: May 5
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 50 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: Early morning before dawn

The Eta Aquarids meteor shower is linked to Halley’s Comet.  This beautiful spectacle graces our skies every May, and it’s better visible from the Southern Hemisphere. However, Los Angeles’ early risers can catch a moderate display.

Head to El Matador Beach or Leo Carrillo State Park for a great view.

Viewing Tip: The radiant lies in the southeastern sky near the constellation Aquarius.

Location: various

4 – Perseids (August 11-13)

Perseid Meteor

Description:

  • Peak Nights: August 11-12
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 100 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: Late night to pre-dawn

The Perseids are a favorite for stargazers worldwide due to their high activity and bright meteors. With a new moon in 2025, conditions will be perfect. Escape to Joshua Tree National Park or Mount Pinos for unparalleled views.

Viewing Tip: Find the radiant near the constellation Perseus in the northeastern sky.

5 – Orionids (October 21-22)

Yoshua Tree meteor shower

Description:

  • Peak Night: October 21
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 20 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: After midnight

This is another product of Halley’s Comet!  The Orionids are known for their speed, entering Earth’s atmosphere at around 148,000 miles per hour.

While the Orionids feature moderate activity, they are known for producing occasional bright fireballs.

This year, a crescent moon will set early, ensuring dark skies. Try stargazing from Malibu Creek State Park, Joshua Tree National Park or Vasquez Rocks.

6 – Leonids (November 17-18)

Los angeles meteor shower

Description:

  • Peak Night: November 17
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 15 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: After midnight

While not a storm year, the Leonids will still produce a modest show in 2025. Their radiant rises late, so plan to stay out after midnight. The Angeles National Forest offers a great spot close to LA.

Viewing Tip: Look for the radiant in the eastern sky near the constellation Leo.

Location: varioius

7 – Geminids (December 13-14)

Big Bear meteor shower

Description:

  • Peak Night: December 13
  • Estimated Rate: Up to 150 meteors per hour
  • Best Viewing Time: Late night to pre-dawn

The Geminids are widely regarded as the best meteor shower of the year. With a crescent moon in 2025, the sky will be dark enough for an incredible show.

Drive to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve or Big Bear Lake for a magical experience.

Viewing Tip: Focus on the radiant near the constellation Gemini, particularly the stars Castor and Pollux.

Upgrades are also available for the most unique celebration including $10 add-on gourmet chocolate bundlet . You can personalize your ride with decorations and enjoy an exclusive wine tasting by Vindemia Winery.

We hope you love and enjoy all our recommendations in this post and have the most fantastic Valentine’s Day Hollywood style!

February in Los Angeles is a special time of year when the city comes alive with a unique blend of cultural events, romantic activities, and exciting experiences for locals and visitors.

If you’re a fan of the arts, then you will enjoy this post because we got the best recommendations just for you.  February is a fantastic time to explore LA’s cultural scene.

But there is more, festivals are happening all over with music and food that caters to a variety of guests. And of course discover where to go for Valentine’s and where to watch the super bowl! We have some great suggestions for February 2025 events in Los Angeles.

1 – Art Shows and Events

Modernism Week Palm Springs

Description:

Our creative and culturally diverse city is hosting several awesome art shows this month.  Our first suggestion is the LA Art Show.  From February 19th to 23rd, art enthusiasts, collectors, and curious minds alike will converge at the Los Angeles Convention Center to immerse themselves in a world where imagination knows no bounds.  The opening gala event will benefit the American Heart Association.  You can also purchase general admission and 1 day only tickets.

Our next suggestion is The Other Art Show in Art Water Village from February 21-23.  This great event invites everyone who enjoys a different kind of art, the kind of art you can touch and explore; or as the organizers put it, art that is bizarre, unexpected and never normal.  Atwater Village, with its artsy charm and laid-back vibe, is the perfect setting for this unconventional and fun art fair.

Lastly, enjoy Modernism Week Palm Springs from February 13 – 23.  If you’re a fan of mid-century design, architectural innovation, and retro-chic style, then this event should be on your calendar.  This festival celebrates the mid-century modern aesthetic that defines Palm Springs. From the 1940s to the 1970s, this style flourished in the city, resulting in some of the most iconic homes, commercial buildings, and landscapes in the world.

2 – Monster Jam

Monster Jam 2025

Description:

If you want to turn up the adrenaline get your tickets for Monster Jam in Anaheim on February 15th and 16th.  This monster truck extravaganza brings its larger-than-life trucks, fearless drivers, and edge-of-your-seat excitement.

If you are new to this event, you must know that Monster Jam is the premier live motorsport event featuring monster trucks that are as big in personality as they are in size.

These 12,000-pound machines, with their enormous tires and roaring engines, perform mind-blowing stunts, including gravity-defying jumps, dizzying donuts, and freestyle tricks.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the world of monster trucks, Monster Jam promises a spectacle like no other.

You can purchase regular event tickets online, you can also purchase a Pit Party Pass together with your regular ticket order and enjoy a view up close of the monster trucks, meet your favorite drivers and take fun pictures.

3 – Food and Music

Skyline fest Grand Park LA

Description:

If your looking to experience something exciting and unique this month come to the Skyline Festival in Grand Park.  This one-of-a-kind festival combines breathtaking visuals, live music, art, and a celebration of the vibrant spirit of the city.

Whether you’re a local or visiting, Skyline Fest offers a dynamic experience that captures the energy and creativity of Los Angeles.

Next for our list is The Kosher Food and Wine Experience.  Savor the best at this great event on February 12th at Herzog Wine Cellars in Oxnard.  The Kosher Food & Wine Experience is an annual event that showcases the best kosher food, wine, and spirits from around the world.

Renowned chefs, wineries, and distilleries come together to provide attendees with a luxurious tasting journey that highlights the diversity and creativity of kosher culinary arts.

4 – February Festivals and Special Celebrations

Golden Dragon Parade LA

Description:

Dress in red and celebrate good luck for the Lunar New Year Celebrations all over town this month of February.  One of the most remarkable celebrations is The Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown on February 8th.

This iconic event features stunning dragon and lion dances, colorful floats, traditional music, and performances. The parade, which has been a tradition for over 125 years, attracts thousands of attendees who come to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Be sure to arrive early to secure a good spot along the parade route.

This month will also have plenty of Valentine’s Day celebrations and we have couple of great suggestions for you.  Number one in this list are the candlelight Valentine’s day concerts, these are great for romantic couples who enjoy intimate settings with beautiful music and of course candlelight.

Looking for another unique way to spend a fun romantic day? Explore Disneyland After Dark – Sweethearts’ Nite! This fun event catered to love birds runs from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am until February 13th and includes rare characters appearances, theme food and drinks, and Valentine’s decorations.

Lastly, Luminosa is open in San Dimas! Lektrik is an annual festival that brings together stunning light installations, interactive exhibits, and mesmerizing performances, all designed to captivate the senses.

The festival is inspired by the themes of innovation and unity, showcasing how light can connect us all.  Don’t miss out on this incredible light exhibit with impacting installations, with mysterious and authentic themes.

5 – Celebrate Super Bowl in LA

Verizon Fan Fest 2025

Description:

Looking for a fun place to watch the Super Bowl?  SoFI Stadium is having a very big Super Bowl watch party! There will be NFL local legends appearances, cheerleader performances, live music, food trucks, local vendors and more.  Visit Verizon Fan Fest for tickets to this great party https://verizonfanfest.com/public/LosAngeles

Of course there are plenty of bars around town with large screens so you can eat, drink and watch the big game.

Our first suggestion is Cosm, this awesome venue gives you screens so large you feel like you are front row in the actual game. Not only do they have the live immersive experience but they also have multiple floors and 5 bars! If you aren’t lucky enough to snag tickets to the Dome seating there are plenty of big screen televisions elsewhere across the venue.

If your looking for more traditional bars there are plenty of those as well. You have the Prank Bar in DTLA, the Morrison in Atwater Village,  and 33Taps with its 4 locations including the OG in Silver Lake. With their awesome atmospheres and legendary super bowl parties, all of these spots are great choices for super bowl watch parties.

Would you rather stay home and host a watch party with your friends?  Hibachi catering has taken over the country the past few years as a super fun way to host parties. And we have the GOAT of hibachi at home with Let’s Hibachi Los Angeles.

Have them come on Super Bowl Sunday to take care of your pre-game fun, half time break or after the game dinner.  They will come to your house to feed and hype your guests making it a Super Bowl celebration they will never forget.
