We love free shows and spectacular displays and the neighborhoods of Los Angeles and nearby areas always come through! The holiday season is a great occasion for many Angelinos to display their creativity through their holiday decorations, animatronics, and displays.
On this list we checked it twice to make sure its nice with some of those pretty amazing neighborhoods that get all hooked up for the holidays.
Dress up warm and take the kids for a stroll, because there will be brilliant lights on display and hot cocoa to help keep you warm.
1 – Candy Cane Lane
Description:
Candy Cane Lane is a sensational display of decorated homes in South Torrance. It’s probably one of the most spectacular holiday decorated neighborhoods in all LA.
The neighborhood is located on Roberts Rd. off Pacific Cost Highway, and it welcomes visitors every year from December 1 to New Years Day to appreciate their remarkable display.
You can drive around the neighborhood, but it can get pretty busy so walking offers a more relaxed and fun experience. Make sure to park the car a few blocks away and you will spend at least an hour walking through this massive illuminated neighborhood. Also, you may find hot chocolate and even churros for sale on some of the houses, the perfect combo for all ages when experiencing Christmas lights.

2 – Christmas Tree Lane
Description:
The lights are up in the tree lined streets of Altadena and welcoming all visitors to this gorgeous annual tradition. Each year the residents of Altadena dress up their cedars trees to delight locals and visitors with all the dazzling lights and they call it Christmas Tree Lane. Begin at Altadena Dr. and drive on Santa Rosa Ave. The trip is only about 1 mile, but the views are grand.
This year the neighborhood is inviting us all to celebrate their 100th Annual Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony and Winter Festival. The ceremony is on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 3 to 9 pm.

3 – Striking Decorated Private Homes
Description:
Take a tour to some of the most renowned private homes with the most creative and striking holiday decorations. Stop at Spectacular Sylmar, this home located at 13953 Olive Grove Ln Sylmar, CA 91342, displays the only signing Christmas lights duo. Expect a show like no other, playing your favorite Christmas songs and this lights sensation lasts a whopping 55 minutes!
Herman Family Festival of Lights boasts some of the best shows and they work really hard to impress and deliver a truly fun light display for all visitors. This year with over 7000 lights, animation, a giant bear and more. The house is located at 10803 Overland Ave., Culver City, CA 90230.
Another house that is totally instagrammable during the holidays is located in 1215 Tropical Ave, Pasadena. This splendid home with all its ornaments, creativity and holiday cheer is a sensation, so big it made it to the popular show The Great Christmas Light Fight. Make sure to go check it out in all its bright lights glory!

4 – Naples Island Holiday Lights
Description:
Naples Island in Long Beach boasts a fantastic array of holiday decorations every year. The beautiful homes dress up for the occasion with all the Holiday cheer, and some home owners even welcome visitors by passing out delicious candy canes.
One of the main things that makes this light display so special is the gorgeous homes are nestled right on both sides of the canal. As you walk right next to the canal you have lit up homes on either side and even lit up boats to admire floating by in the canal.
Enjoy the pleasant walk while being completely transfixed delighting with the views, or make it an even more exciting experience by boarding the Long Beach Trolley for a waterfront tour. Watch the floating Christmas trees of Alamitos Bay and of course all those incredible Christmas lights of Naples Island.

5 – Upper Hastings Ranch Pasadena
Description:
Take a drive around this beautiful neighborhood that has delighted visitors for decades with magnificent holiday displays. Yes this neighborhood annual gem has been lighting up the holidays for 70 years! Pasadena Upper Hastings Ranch stands out among all the festive areas in Pasadena for the passionate residents who bring the fun every year.
From December 10th – 31st the beautiful large ranch style homes dress up with tons of coordinated decorations. Every night you and your party can appreciate all the holiday cheer starting at 6pm and going until about 10pm
You can expect to see each street decorated with its own holiday theme. That’s right they’re coordinated which makes this show next level magnificent for neighborhood lights and an obvious choice for our list.
