Best Places Near LA to Celebrate Oktoberfest 2022

 

It’s October so you know its not only Halloween month but time for Oktoberfest in LA! That’s right Angelinos, this festive now celebrated worldwide, started in Bavaria hundreds of years ago but is also a very anticipated event here in Southern California.

Oktoberfest means it is time for great beer, great sausages and good times.  Round up your friends and hit up one of the places in this post to celebrate this authentic German fest right here in Los Angeles.

 


1 – LA Fairplex Oktoberfest

Description:

Home of the LA County Fair, Fairplex returns to celebrate Oktoberfest starting October 7th.  Every Saturday and Sunday until October 22nd, come and check out one of the largest beer fests in the county of Los Angeles and in all of Southern California.

Expect fun music, games and prizes, tons of beer, and of course grilled bratwurst,  knockwurst, potato pancakes, pretzels and other German inspired delicious treats.

And what is Oktoberfest with out live music? Yes indeed, there will be plenty of it.  Live entertainment, talented bands and DJs will get everyone out on the dance floor.

You can get your tickets online in the Fairplex site.  Parking for this event is available at Gate 17.  Or if yo plan on drinking lots take a rideshare and have your Uber, Lift or Taxi drop you off at Gate 1.

2 – OC Fair Haunted Oktoberfest

Description:

Looking for an Oktoberfest with a spooky twist?  Look no further than OC Boo Ha Ha.  This event for adults only brings a giant beer fest but with Halloween costumes instead of Bavarian mini skirts, so suit up in your most impressive costume.

From 7:00 to 10:00 pm there will be unlimited beer tasting of German style lagers, IPA’s, Seltzer, Cider and even Kombucha.  You can find the concessions throughout the venue and also a full bar.  You can purchase tickets in their website and don’t forget to read their dress code which encourages costumes without masks that cover the entire face.

3 – Old World Village Huntington Beach

Description:

Oktoberfest Biergarten at Old World in Huntington Beach once again is having their popular annual bash. This remarkable venue is a full German style “village” all dressed up even more for the fun fest with German ambiance, German beer and German inspired dishes.

Guests are welcome every Wednesday through Sunday until November 6th.  Come enjoy German beer, brats, and babes! This spot takes great pride of their Bratwurst, so you know you are in for some of the best quality if you love this type of food.

You can also expect also great music by German bands, plenty of games, and more unique entertainment.

Tickets are available through their website, 21 plus only on Fridays and Saturdays 6:00 pm to 1:00 am.  You can come with the family on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

4 – Oktoberfest in LA

Description:

Want to stay right here in LA to celebrate Oktoberfest? There are several biergartens throughout the city that can bring the party up to nearly Bavarian standards.  Wirtshaus in Hollywood is celebrating now until the end of October.  Guests are encouraged to make reservations for festivities every Friday and Saturday night.

Wurstkuche in Venice is inviting all Angelinos to show Oktoberfest attire and come to celebrate for 3 consecutive weekends starting October 1st.   Expect great food, music, and of course there will be amazing German beer.  Girls will be yodeling and bands will perform each weekend. There is also the location in the Arts District.

Also be sure to check out Rassellbock.  This awesome spot has location in Long Beach and one in Mar Vista. Both carrying over 35 German and Belgian beers, and hosting the Oktoberfest parties until the end of October every Friday & Saturday night.

Be sure to visit for the Oktoberfest Party with Stein holding contests, Dirndl, Lederhosen, music, giveaways and special Oktoberfest beers.  Reservations are highly encouraged.

More places joining the fun include Malibu Café Oktoberfest, and 2nd annual Oktoberfest in Long Beach.

5 – Oktoberfest in the Alps of Southern Cal.

Description:

You don’t have to travel to Europe to celebrate Oktoberfest, just drive to Lake Arrowhead to feel like you are in the Alps.  Lake Arrowhead Oktoberfest is bringing in the party! Your ticket includes Oktoberfest mug and your first beer, $10 thereafter for every beer or wine.  This cash only event also features delicious German inspired food, pretzels of course, Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Sauerkraut to name a few.  And  of course live music!

Lets party at Big Bear Oktoberfest! This is another favorite spot with tons of entertainment not to mention all the beautiful forest that characterizes Big Bear.  Oktoberfest here will be celebrated all the way to November 5th.  Tickets on sale through their website and there are great packages available including family fun packages, and love shacks.

There is also free shuttle service to the event and back.  Expect awesome German feast to fit kings appetite, German music, games and contests, and of course excellent beer.

Other places worth to mention include Laguna hills pumpkin city Oktoberfest, and the 20th annual Wild Oktoberfest in Ocean Beach San Diego.  Have fun everyone.
