Los Angeles Best Valentines Events for Singles

Single on everyone’s (least) favorite Hallmark holiday? Not to worry. Los Angeles is full of events for the uncoupled, and most of them are more fun than chocolates and flowers anyway (bo-ring)!

Here are our top 5 picks to keep you from Netflix and chillin’ alone – and, hey, you might even meet someone at one of these.

1 – How to Break Up By Text

Description:

The only thing better than a great love story… is a crazy break up story. While everyone else is off celebrating the fact that they’ve defined their relationships, come celebrate the inevitable demise of said relationships.

Head over to West Hollywood, where comedians will be performing and roasting text break-ups submitted live by people in the audience.

This show is one night only, so mark your calendars now for Thursday, February 13th. Tickets and more details at howtobreakupbytext.com.

Location:

The 11:11, 1107 N. Kings Road, Los Angeles, California 90069

Text your own break-ups to 818-392-4759 and they could get projected onstage. (Numbers will be blurred.) And head over early – there’s a bar out front and a drinking game in the show.

2 – The Break Up Bar

Description:

From February 1-14, you can toast to all your broken relationships. You can catch this pop up bar for the first two weeks of February only, so don’t miss it. According to the hosts, there will be an “8 foot wall of broken relationships, a mini art exhibit of relics of Valentine’s Day past, and a 10 foot projection screen showing classic breakup movies of past and present.” Drinks in previous years have included “A Cold Day in Hell” and “I Dealt With Your Parents For Years”, but we’re told they’re all quite delicious.

For reservations and more details, visit breakupbarla.com.

Location:

They’re taking over the spot right next to Severance Wine Bar: 7276 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046.

You can add your own stories to the wall of broken relationships. They’ll provide the supplies, but come with your worst (or best) ready.

3 – Broken Hearts Circus

Description:

Since dating is generally a circus filled with clowns, Angel City Brewery has decided to take that quite literally in this annual event.

On February 15th, you can catch jugglers, contortionists, and more as they take over the Brewery for this one-of-a-kind happening. Food trucks, live art and mural painting, a photo booth, and – of course – alcohol complete the festivities.

Location:

Angel City Brewery, 216 S Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Sure, you may not have a V-Day date this year, but at this venue, you can bring the next best thing… your dog.

Angel City Brewery allows pets so you can bring your furry friend for some cuddles and emotional support.

4 – Mortified

Description:

In this hilarious and cringe-worthy show, adults read from their childhood diaries. You read that correctly.

On February 15th, they’ll be doing their annual “Doomed” Valentine’s Show, which we can only imagine includes melodramatic pubescent fantasizing, probably some poetry that’s so bad it’s good, and unrequited…everything.

5 – Cinespia

Description:

If you haven’t crossed Cinespia off your list, then Valentine’s weekend is the time to do it. On February 14th, they’ll be screening The Wedding Singer – can’t go wrong there – in addition to hosting an 80s themed day party with a full bar, DJs, a photobooth, and more.

Not to mention the fact that this is all going down in an historic movie palace built in 1931. Tickets and details at cinespia.org.

Location:

Cinespia at the Los Angeles Theatre, 615 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90014
