Our Favorite Irish Bars to Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in LA for 2022

March is the month for all the shamrock decorations and happy green colors at our favorite Irish bars in LA as St Patrick’s Day approaches.  Are you wondering which bar is best to go to? We have put together for you a pretty solid list of some of the greatest local Irish pubs to check out.

All our recommended spots will have you feeling the luck of the Irish with some being new and trendy and others historic and filled with stories and culture.

Whichever way you choose to go, a visit on St Paddy’s day to any of these spots is guaranteed to be a party with great beer selections, excellent whiskey, friendly crowds, fun ambiance, good music, and great food!

1 – Tom Bergin’s (Fairfax District)

Description:

Many claim that Tom Bergin’s is the best Irish Pub in town and you wont be getting any argument against that here. This historic Irish pub in Los Angeles is located on the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax and besides a cool interior it’s also open for patio dining.

This classic spot that has been open since 1936 has great food but is best known for its coffee, breakfast and dinner menu.  But of course this being an Irish bar the drinks here are serious business as well!

So don’t be shy and come celebrate St Patrick’s day with a good beer or a barrel aged old fashion.

On the 17th, Tom Bergin’s will be open from 6AM to 1AM and will have an outdoor tent party from 12PM to 12AM with 3 outdoor bars. There will also be a live bagpipe performer and a DJ.

Location: 840 S. Fairfax Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90036

2 – Auld Fella (Culver City)

Description:

We go from an old classic to a fairly new trendy Irish hot spot called Auld Fella. This cool spot that opened in 2019, is in the heart of downtown Culver City’s restaurant district and has conquered the hearts of locals because of the friendly service, good vibes and stiff drinks.

The bar is an authentic Irish, and it will keep you entertained with lively music, good food and drinks.  Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3p.m. to 5:30 p.m. They also have a late night happy hour Sunday and Monday from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

The ambiance is great as well with drinks available at their open or enclosed heated patios.  They also have a regular schedule of live music and a menu that won’t disappoint.  You can find traditional Irish breakfast, shepherd’s pies and corned beef and cabbage just to mention a few.  We can definitely recommend their rooster pie and banger and mash.

This pub is open everyday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.  Sunday brunch is from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For St Patrick’s Day there will be a full day of an Irish feast, toasts and tunes. The party starts early and runs all night with an 8AM breakfast and live performances at 12:30PM, 4PM and 9PM.

There are no reservations and its first come first serve.

Location: 9375 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232

3 – Patrick Molloy’s (Hermosa Beach)

Description:

An Irish restaurant bar just steps from the beach? Yes only in LA. Hermosa Beach to be exact. We put Patrick Molloy’s as a must Irish bar to visit because of its great ambiance and location, just feet away from the Pier and the beach.

Patrick Molloy’s is located in our favorite LA beach town of Hermosa Beach about 40 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. As you walk up to the restaurant you feel the vibrant energy and positive vibes of people on the boardwalk soaking up the sun and the Ocean soundtrack.

Its not all location though. Patrick Molloy’s  revamped their menu awhile back and its now more elevated bar food that is super tasty. They have some of the most juicy spicy baked chicken wings that we love. Some other favorites of ours are the Irish Nachos, Ahi Poki Wontons, and the Molloy Burger. Also this is not very Irish but be sure to try their tacos and mojitos.

A visit to Patrick’s Molloy’s is great anytime to unwind after a hectic day and enjoy the ocean breeze and drinks. And though we haven’t heard anything specific planned for St Patrick’s Day yet, this places is a party all the time so we expect it will really be a blow out blast on March 17th.

4 – Rock and Reilly’s (WEHO & USC)

Description:

Have you heard the tale of Reilly the King of the Black Eye Society?  That very legend of an Irish boy who makes his way to America during prohibition is what inspired this fun Irish pub in West Hollywood and USC Village called Rock & Reilly’s.  This cool bar and restaurant is all fun vibes and it transports its visitors to those mischievous times of whiskey smuggling and speakeasies.

Modern Irish Pub food at its best is served here, including burgers, sandwiches, wraps and of course very spicy chicken wings that are coated with your choice of rub including Nashville hot and are served with two sauces that include buffalo or sriracha aioli.

Of course for St. Patrick’s Day the shenanigans are calling! On Thursday, March 17th starting at 11am they are offering 50% off everything behind the bar and from the kitchen from 11am-3pm.

There will also be Green Beer & other specials all day until 2am.

Location: 8911 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

5 – O’Brien’s Irish Pub & Restaurant (Santa Monica)

Description:

The Irish LA spot O’Briens has been open since the mid nineties and is still a big hit in Santa Monica.  For football fans its the local home of the New York Giants but we still like it in spite of that. There is a very friendly atmosphere and good beers and that’s what this Irish pub is best known for.

O’Brien’s is open until 10 pm Monday-Saturday and until 9:30 pm on Sundays.  They have 15 TVs and all the sporting packages so this is your spot if you’re looking for a place to watch a game with your group of friends.  There is also a great patio, extensive beer menu and they welcome visitors to play trivia on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 pm.

The food here is pretty good as well and you must try the potato skins with smoked bacon, cheese and sour cream, yum! They also offer plenty of burgers, sandwiches, salads with protein, spicy wings and more.  But what we really recommend is of course their Irish dishes, try their shepherd’s pie, Irish breakfast which is served all day, bangers and mash or corned beef and cabbage.

Of course they are throwing a St Patrick’s Day bash and it starts early at 9AM. If you want to party on St Patrick’s Day in Santa Monica this should be your go to.

Location: 2226 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403
