From vibrant music festivals showcasing emerging talent to delicious food celebrations honoring the city’s diverse culinary scene.  Get your kids ready to enjoy tons of fun activities, and for some you can even bring your pups!

Beyond all the fun and entertainment, this month also brings unique opportunities to connect with others and deepen your understanding of the world around you.

April 2025 in L.A. will feature cultural activities that celebrate Los Angeles’ rich diversity and showcase the talents of its residents. Visitors can engage with environmental initiatives, learn about sustainable practices, and take part in events dedicated to environmental education.

 


1 – Grand Prix of Long Beach

Description:

Looking for a thrilling sports event to attend this month?  Then come out to Long Beach for the annual Acura Grand Prix, happening from April 11-13.  Set against the stunning backdrop of the Long Beach coastline downtown, this legendary race attracts top drivers from around the world. 

The event features a weekend packed with high-speed action, including the IndyCar Series, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and Pirelli GT4 America, making it a must-attend for motorsports enthusiasts.

With the breathtaking city skyline and the Pacific Ocean just steps away, the Grand Prix combines fierce competition with a vibrant atmosphere, offering local guests and visitors an experience like no other.

In addition to the exciting races, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach offers a full array of entertainment for all ages.

Fans can enjoy fan-friendly experiences like driver meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, and a bustling paddock area filled with cars and exhibits.

2 – Take Your Dog Out

Corgi Day Huntington Beach

Description:

This beautiful month of sunny weather also brings a variety of exciting events that you and your dog can enjoy together, from fundraising walks to fun-filled beach days. One event that’s a must-visit for dog lovers is the Wiggle Waggle Walk and Run on April 6th at Brookside Park at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. 

This popular event, organized by the Pasadena Humane Society, is not only a great way to get some exercise, but it’s also one of the biggest fundraising events of the year. By participating, you’ll be helping raise vital funds for the thousands of animals the society cares for, while enjoying a day of fresh air and camaraderie with fellow dog owners.

Another great event this month is the Corgi Beach Day on April 5th in Huntington City Beach.  From 10 am to 3 pm, Huntington Beach will be transformed into a paradise for corgis.  This fun event is all about fun in the sun, celebrating all things corgis. 

Enjoy theme contests and activities, fun photo stations, food truck pavilion, dog-centric vendor village and much more.  It’s a fantastic way to make lasting memories with your furry best friend, while also connecting with other dog lovers.

3 – Celebrate Music and Arts

April is an exciting month for music lovers in Southern California, with a packed lineup of incredible events that showcase a wide variety of musical genres. And for another mega concert, SoFi Stadium presents Queen B for those looking for a larger-than-life experience.  Beyoncé is bringing her Cowboy Carter Tour to SOFI Stadium on April 28. Known for her electrifying performances and incredible vocal range, Beyoncé is sure to deliver an unforgettable show for her fans.

4 – Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day serves as a reminder that we must show our love and care for the environment, now more than ever because the effects of climate change are becoming increasingly visible.

Raising awareness, and creating positive change is the least we can do for our beautiful planet.  Here are some of the best events to participate in Earth Day in LA.

LASAN’s Earth Day.  Come support the LA Sanitation and Environment annual event to celebrate Earth Day.  This signature event, happening on April 26, offers an exciting mix of activities for all ages. Attendees can explore informative learning opportunities, check out impressive vehicle exhibits, and snap some fun photos at dedicated photo ops.

For families, there’s a kids’ zone filled with games and hands-on activities to keep little ones entertained while fostering eco-consciousness.  Tickets available at Eventbrite.

Join the city of Santa Monica event: Our Planet, Our Power.  Learn how you can help protect our planet at this drop-in event featuring information tables, mini-presentations, and activities for all ages. 

Friends Bookstore will be open for sustainable book shopping! Also the California Climate Action Corps Fellows and Santa Monica Community Gardens Staff will be present at this event and guests can plant native milkweed, dissect owl pellets, explore a worm bin and learn about some cool bees from a Bee Specialist. 

Other highlights include an interactive poetry workshop presented by the City of Santa Monica poet Laureate, Anne Carmack.

Another great way to express love to our planet is taking your younger members of your family and visiting the museums in LA like the Natural History Museums Earth Day Events.  Or head towards one of the beautiful beaches and participate in a Beach Clean up event.

5 – Best Fests in April

Knotts Boysenberry Fest

Description:

Angelenos, prepare for a fun-filled April, packed with vibrant festivals that celebrate food, drinks, and culture! First up, make sure you don’t miss the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival on April 21st, where culinary magic meets classic Disney charm.

While you’re in the Disneyland Resort, why not swing by Pixar Putt at the Pixar Place Hotel? Its  a fun, interactive mini-golf pop-up inspired by the iconic Pixar films. It’s an awesome way to add a little friendly competition and Disney nostalgia to your trip!

If you’re craving more tasty bites, head to the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, where you can indulge in boysenberry-infused treats and explore the park’s lively atmosphere. It’s a fun annual event and you would be surprised by how many things taste great with boysenberry added to them!

If your looking for another foodie fest we have a good suggestion for pizza lovers,. The Pizza City Fest LA on April 26 and 27 will be a slice of heaven with the best pies from LA’s top pizzerias. The massive event taking place at L.A. Live is out to prove once again that Los Angeles does have great pizza!

But that’s not all foodies! —April in LA is packed with events that will have you craving to keep coming back for more! For the plant-based crowd, the Vegan Street Fair in North Hollywood on April 5th and 6th is a must-attend, serving up delicious eats that prove you don’t need meat to have a good time.

Then, raise your glass at the LA Beer Fest on April 5th at the LA Center Studios, where you can sample over 200 beers from 80+ breweries, chow down on food truck fare, and jam to live tunes, all while enjoying unlimited tastings (note: it’s 21+!). If you’re into food, drink, and good vibes, these festivals are the perfect reason to grab your friends and enjoy the LA sunshine.

April is also a time to celebrate LA’s rich arts and culture scene, with festivals that promise inspiration and reflection. The LA Times Festival of Books (April 26-27) at USC brings together authors, artists, and readers for a weekend of book signings, panel discussions, and literary fun.
