Its now April and are we finally going to get some of that Southern California sunshine after a March full of rainy days? We shall see. But either way its time to start planning your calendar for the month of April and we are our adding to the list with some great events happening. We expect the weather will get better and better and we will all have more choice for outdoor activities, just like you guys like it.
Check out our recommendations for April 2023 in this list so you can plan unique and fun dates or activities. Take your whole family to events and theme parks, find your new Earth day volunteering tradition or celebration, and of course remember to check out those beautiful museums and new exhibits.
1 – Celebrate Earth’s Day
Description:
It’s Earth Day this month and many are already looking how to contribute to our environment or how to be part of a fun events celebrating nature. Well we have a few great tips for you LA Hackers. One is to join a group of volunteers for a beach clean up. We recommend the Earth Day Beach Cleanup and Party at Hermosa beach on April 23rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. They will have beach volleyball and other beach games, and prizes for those who can pick up the most trash! Just Look for their big blue beach tent! They also would like you to bring reusable water bottle ( no plastic please), snacks, gloves, and closed toe shoes.
Join FoLAR ( Friends of the LA River) for their 33rd annual LA River cleanup event on April 15th and 22nd. Volunteers are invited to register through folar.org and to celebrate the LA River through art, and education. During this event you and your group will have opportunities to participate on clean ups, nature walks, habitat restoration, and river education activities.
More events happening on this day include the 16th annual CSU Dominguez Hills Earth Day Fest, Beach clean up at Venice and New Port, Vkind Earth Day Summit at the DTLA Market Center, and Earth Day Fest in Glendora.

2 – Museums Exhibits and Special Events
Description:
A beautiful April Spring time activity? Visit the butterflies at the Natural History Museum. This seasonal experience is everyone’s favorite where you can check out hundreds of beautiful butterflies in a pretty awesome environment with native plants. Butterflies here have plenty of space to fly around and lots of resting spots too so we can take plenty of great pictures.
First Fridays is also back at the Natural History Museum and this season the theme is Natural World vs Fantasy World. On April 7th come for the Live music and DJ. Cosplay as your favorite fantasy and fandom character and enter for a chance to win a prize for best costume. You can get additional points if your costume represents this month’s theme of Witches, Wizards, and Magical Powers. The theme of discussion is Space, Time, and Beyond: Speculative Fiction and the World We Live In, speaker will be situated at level 2, NORTH AMERICAN MAMMAL HALL at 6:30 pm.
Also another we recommend you check out this April is The Hammer museum. The free to enter museum is finally complete and ready for us after a two decades of renovations. It now has a new main entrance and lobby, new exhibit installations, outdoor sculpture terrace, and other surprises.

3 – April Fests
Description:
The warm weather is almost here and Angelenos are now ready to get back to enjoying the awesome outdoor fests and entertainment that pop back up this time of year. This month several fests are happening, and the first one in our list is big with Coachella Valley Music and Arts Fest. This annual music festival in Indio CA, is bringing all the energy as usual with live performances, and tons of fun. Visit their website to get tickets, camping essentials and passes. The fest runs 2 consecutive weekends on April 14-16 & 21-23.
LA 15th annual Beer Fest is on April 1st at the Los Angeles Center Studios, featuring tons of great beer an entertainment. This event is boasting 80 breweries, carrying 200 beers, food trucks, live bands, and DJ. The event will run from 5 to 8 pm.
Pizza Fest!! Yeah baby, super excited to bring this one to our list. We definitely encourage everyone to attend this fun and diverse event on April 29th and 30th at LA Live, set to prove once and for all that Los Angeles does have great pizza. With Pizza Fest it’s your chance to taste LA’s best pizzas all in one place! Your tickets include 12 slices from 20 different pizza vendors, drink, assorted desserts. Enjoy, have fun, bring your friends because let’s face it, everyone loves a good slice of pizza.

4 – Cirque du Soleil Corteo
Description:
The famous Cirque du Soleil, an entertainment group known all over the world for producing spectacular shows, and immersive experiences came back to Los Angeles on March 23rd. Cirque du Soleil brings Corteo to the Microsoft Theater in LA, to delight, entertain and fascinate Angelenos with a production packed with fantastic story and mind blowing athletic performances.
Corteo is the story about the death of a clown bu rather than a somber occasion, the entertainer envisions his funeral procession as a joyful and grand parade, complete with aerial angels and lively festivities.
As he transitions from this life, the comedian’s dream seamlessly merges the past with a celestial realm, resulting in an enchanting world that comes to life on stage with stunning sets and costumes. The show featuring comedy, fantasy, and music, is a 100 minutes long performance with a 20 minute intermission meant to entertain the whole family. The show contains loud noises, and some dark scenes. Get your tickets for this sensational event that will be in LA on March 23rd to April 30th. It usually sells out so don’t wait!

5 – Super Nintendo World
Description:
Nintendo afficionado families can now enjoy the super adventures of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. This very anticipated themed land in Universal is finally opened to the public, and it has great entertainment, fun, activities, rides, and all the colorful Nintendo décor.
To get into Nintendo World you will need to make a reservation time. If you have Universal Express and VIP privileges, you can access the land without reservation! This super family friendly land is awesome for pictures, bring your very little ones and take super cute pics with all the Nintendo characters.
Ride Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge. Wearing special goggles, you will steer through underwater courses, and courses in the clouds, collect coins and throw shells to win the golden cup. Purchase a Power – Up Band and play interactive games, keep score thorough the land as you complete challenges.
And how about the food? Yes, you can find the most fun Nintendo themed bites and desserts in the eatery located in the land. Check out Toadstool Café, and indulge in some of the most fun Theme Park style dishes, and cute looking desserts. Everyone who visits the land wants to visit the Café as well so be sure to make reservations there too.
