We love April, because the mild weather is perfect for absolutely everything; outdoor concerts, hikes, and taking gorgeous pictures as the landscape is nice and green. Although this year we didn’t have that much rain, you can still catch some wildflowers in your selfie if you know the right spots.

1 – LA Beer Fest
Description:
It is happening Angelinos! The 14th annual LA Beer Festival is on April 2nd at the Los Angeles Center Studios from noon to 8:00 pm.
Expect more than 80 breweries, that’s enough for even for the biggest craft beer fans. There will be over 200 beers to choose from, 15 awesome local food trucks, live music, and also DJs.
General Admission is at $50 bucks and includes unlimited samples from over 80 breweries, plus live music and access to food trucks.
If you want to step it up a bit you can get the VIP access.
Connoisseur Admission includes all the benefits of General Admission, plus exclusive access to the VIP Lounge with air conditioned bathrooms, an indoor/outdoor event deck overlooking the event, festival T-shirt, and access to limited and rare beers not available to General Admission attendees.

2 – Celebrate Earth Day
Description:
Looking for ways to celebrate Earth Day? There are several events happening this month to celebrate, educate, and bring citizens together in support of the modern environmental movement.
AltaSea and the Los Angeles Maritime Institute is inviting all families to celebrate Blue Earth Day on Saturday April 23 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. Some of the partners involved in this terrific event include The Battleship IOWA, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, International Bird Rescue, Marine Mammal Care Center and the USC Seaweed Lab.

Let’s Clean This Beach! Join all the wonderful volunteers on Earth Day who organize these remarkable events and make them fun for everyone helping out. Hermosa Beach Team is having a beach clean up on April 22nd from 9 am to 3 pm with music, games and prizes for those who can pick up the most trash from this gorgeous beach. Also check out Malibu Biggest Earth Day in LA, Earth Day Clean Up Long Beach, Dockweiler State Beach, Huntington, Venice and Manhattan Beach.
Visit the Natural History Museum on Saturday April 9th. There you can enjoy an excellent program to celebrate Earth Day from 1 to 5 pm, including Pop-up presentations with some of the museum’s living collections, performances by Masanga Marinba, and of course all the beautiful natural gardens and displays.
Visitors can create block cards with stamp designs representing California native plants. Also get a yummy treat from La Monarca Bakery and learn of their support to protect and preserve the monarch butterfly.

3 – The Festival of Books
Description:
The LA Times Festival of Books brings a big program this year, with more than 550 writers, musicians, chefs, and many more other artists. This awesome event is happening on April 23th and 24th on the USC campus.
Hundreds of indoor and outdoor events for all ages, exhibitor booths, cooking demonstrations and author signings, are among the many activities prepared for the event.
Feel welcome to roam stalls from booksellers and catch readings and panels from some of the most recognizable names in literature.
You can snag tickets on Eventbrite for indoor panels that range from $60 – $150 and all outdoor stages are free.

4 – Renaissance Pleasure Faire
Description:
Show off your best costume for this one and join all the fun that the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale has to offer. Guests are invited to come dressed to play but you can also rent a costume for you and your children if you don’t have one at home. And you even rent a wagon for the little ones.
Every Saturday and Sunday starting on April 9 to May 22 from 10 am to 7 pm you are invited to have the great fun medieval times style, with acrobats, fortune tellers, games, musicians and impressive and fun demonstrations to entertain audience of all ages.
Your young ones will also enjoy rock climbing, making cute fairy houses, and getting face paintings. If you want to shop be sure to visit the market where you can find oils, soaps and other fun things.
Hungry anyone? Well its time to feast as this place has a great food court with choices that include delicious Greek inspired dishes like chicken pita, Greek salad, gyros, Greek tea, and Baklava. Also enjoy tasty German Bratwursts, fish and chips, bacon wrapped jalapenos, and many more magnificent treats to good for a servant but perfectly fit for a King or Queen.
The latest news is that there is a pair of Burrowing Owls near the Faire and parking is now limited. Visitors are asked to arrive at 9:30 am. and to compensate them for the early arrival, everyone can enjoy a unique show at 9:45 am at the main gate.

5 – Coachella
Description:
Are you a fan of live music events? Then one of the biggest and most famous to do it, Coachella should be in your list of places to go in April. This annual music festival in Indio CA is bringing all the energy, music and fun that live performance fans can handle. It runs 2 consecutive weekends on April 15-17 and 22-24.
As always the line up is star studded with some of the artists set to perform this year include Harry Styles, Lil Baby, Phoebe Bridgers, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Doja Cat, Joji, Flume, and many others. Prepare for great times, fun activities, games, giveaways and of course incredible performances!
During this experience you will also have the opportunity to appreciate some great boutiques carrying exclusive designer collections and brands. Also, find several food trucks with tons of choices including vegan and vegetarian bites. Tickets to the event may be sold out by the time you read this, but you can go to their website coachella.com and check the waitlist and exchange. Or check for 3rd party resales.
