3 – Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican – American tradition that is celebrated in the US. People know this date observes a Mexican victory during a battle between Mexico and France in the 1800s. But the truth about this holiday celebrated in the US is its mostly a great excuse to party with Mexican American vibes we all love. Here are our recommendations of great spots where you can celebrate and even learn more about this popular day.
Visit El Pueblo de Los Angeles in Olvera Street. Here you can experience many of the traditional Mexican – American foods, music, shopping and entertainment. La Plaza de Cultura y Artes have a terrific program, where visitors can learn about the modern tradition of celebrating 5 de Mayo that began with Latinos in California.
Check out Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, this is an event in Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market. Here visitors can appreciate live performances, Mexican food, and arts and crafts on Thursday May 5th from 11:00 am to 3:00 p.m.
And of course there will be drinking! Go to Newport Beach weekend bar crawl starting on May 7th. Also visit Lucha VaVoom on May 5th and 6th at The Mayan Theater, Cinco de Mayo Hollywood Club Crawl, Jueves Malo Cinco de Mayo in LA. Looking for Spanish Rock? 4 – A Mother’s Day in LA
Description:
Celebrate mother’s day in Los Angeles! If you are looking for a special event to take your mom and make her feel loved and appreciated, we have some great suggestions.
Our first recommendation is a delicious Mother’s Day Brunch at a beautiful venue serving a great menu. Check out The Ebell of Los Angeles, Claire’s at the Museum in Long Beach, The Front Yard in NoHo, The Rooftop by JG Beverly Hills, Yamashiro in Hollywood, The Sunset in Malibu, or Serendipity Cellars – Mother’s Day in the Garden.
Concerts and other events are also getting ready for mom’s special day. Check out A Mother’s Day Evening of Soul at The Forum, or Painting Party at Hellada Gallery. Also, there is Ultimate Mother’s Day event in Pasadena, where moms will get champagne, hair and makeup touch ups, mini mama portrait session, charcuterie box, and other fun stuff.
More ideas or events? Pretty much all the Botanical Gardens in LA county are having a special program for Mother’s Day. Or plan a Staycation where your mom can get a well deserved pampering day like The Spa at Terranea in Palos Verdes.
And last but not least, The Aquarium of The Pacific in Long Beach is inviting all families to celebrate mommy day with brunch and passes to all exhibits.
