Where to See Flowers Fields Near LA

As social distancing and restrictions are still in place we continue to share fun activities you and your loved ones can enjoy while staying safe.

And even in 2021 nothing can stop us from enjoying the Spring season and the lovely flowers and other gifts from nature that are showing up all around us.

Here is a list of places where you can appreciate Spring nature and beauty at its best right here in SoCal.

Some of these places are very conveniently located in the city and others farther but still within a fair distance.

Enjoy these beautiful Spring flowers in or near LA.

 


1 – Exposition Park

Exposition Park Rose Garden

Description:

The first on our list is not technically a flower field but without a doubt a must see for flower lovers in Los Angeles.

Home to some of the best cultural attractions and venues, Exposition Park also has an amazing Rose Garden that displays more than 15,000 rose bushes in approximately 200 varieties.

This beautiful and popular garden was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.  It is located across the street from USC in Downtown LA.

The garden is closed to the public from January 1st to March 15th. It reopens just in time for us to enjoy it in the Spring!

Bring a small lunch to enjoy surrounded by all the roses and take remarkable pictures.

2 – Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve

 

Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve

Description:

California poppies are very popular for their bright orange colors and they look spectacular as they cover entire hillsides.  The Antelope Valley is most popular for this breathtaking California poppies display and we know this one is a favorite flower for many Angelenos, so be sure to plan a trip to check it out.

It varies by year but with the right conditions you will have a magnificent display of poppies that will provide the opportunity for some spectacular pictures.

3 – The Flower Fields at Carlsbad

Flower Fields Carlsbad

Description:

Want to see a spectacular rainbow of flowers?  Then jump in the car and head out to Carlsbad to marvel at a display of over 50 acres of blooming colorful flowers!

The Flower Fields are only open from March 1st to May 9th so be sure you don’t miss it. With the restrictions now you will need to get your tickets online. But its fairly easy to reserve and they are doing a good job of keeping the fields not to crowded.

The spectacular flower fields are overlooking the pacific ocean so you will have an amazing views while taking stunning pictures of the fields..  Have fun!

4 – Point Mugu State Park

Point Mugu Wildflowers

 

Description:

If you love California nature this is a must visit state park in Malibu.  It has awesome sandy beaches, sand dunes, hills to climb, rocky bluffs, river canyons, just natural beauty all around it.

But during spring time, this park also offers beautiful wild flowers on display for you to enjoy.

If you wish to spend some extra time at the park, the campgrounds are open if you have made reservations.

5 – Palos Verdes Peninsula

Palos Verdes Peninsula Flowers

Description:

Palos Verdes displays yellow mustard flowers all over during spring time! Driving through the roads of the Palos Verdes Peninsula gives you spectacular views of the pacific ocean and it also gives you some eye popping views of hills dressed up in yellow displaying tons of yellow mustard flowers.

To get a great display of native wild flowers, choose one or more of the land conservancy preserves located in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, including White Point Nature Preserve,  George F Canyon Nature Center and Preserve, and Linden H. Chandler Preserve.

Some of the flowers you will see include California buckwheat, arroyo lupine, poppies, caterpillar phacelia, mariposa lily, fiddleneck and California bush sunflower.
