Picnics in LA are awesome also because we can choose a different spot every time, we pack our own delicious and healthy food, and the venue is always free.  Once you get a bit extra with your picnics you will enjoy it even more and maybe make it one your new go to activities on the weekends.

1 – The Beach

el Matador Beach

Description:

Of course when we are talking about locations in Los Angeles we have to start with the beach. There are so many beautiful beaches to choose from for picnics but we recommend the secluded El Matador Beach in Malibu.  This gorgeous place is perfect for picnic with its sea caves, rocky shores, flying birds and rolling waves in breathtakingly beautiful Malibu.

You can enjoy a solo picnic or with a special someone but best to go during off hours as this beautiful beach has gotten more and more popular over the years.

Another good beach picnic spot is Santa Monica. You can find a great spot eat right near the famous Pier and take a walk right on it after your meal.

The scenery and the vibrant energy of Santa Monica will recharge your spirit to tackle the rest of the week.  There are so many beautiful beaches to choose from so you cant go wrong but another couple definitely list worthy are Manhattan and Hermosa which also have great spots with beautiful vistas, to make your picture perfect picnic.

Griffith Park is massive and is one place that gives you an endless amount of good spots to choose from for picnic.  You can have a big picnic with some friends, or keep it intimate for you and your dog.  Whichever your preferences are these days, Griffith park will not disappoint. Come early if you want to get a good not so crowded spot in one of the more popular areas but either way you can usually find open places if you look around.

Besides just laying a blanket down on the grass this incredible Park has lots of dedicated picnic areas.

Keep the fun going after your picnic and enjoy some the many awesome activities at Griffith including ride some horses or a hike up to the Observatory to take pictures.  Or if you want a less strenuous but still beautiful hike take a nice walk through Fern Dell Nature Trail instead.

5 – Lake Hollywood Park

Lake Hollywood Park

Description:

If you want to feel the Hollywood vibes than this is for sure the park you want to picnic at, as the famous 45 foot mountain side sign is literally the backdrop. The beautiful little park checks so many boxes for a great picnic but what sets it apart from any other is that unbeatable great view of the Hollywood sign.
