Grabbing some delicious authentic street food is a big part of the LA foodie culture.

And the main reason for that is the unbelievable amount of variety and delicious choices we have when it comes to street food!

In this article, we list some of the spots in LA to find street food at its finest.  No matter what your favorite food is you will likely find it from the vendors on the streets of Los Angeles from fried chicken, hotdogs, tacos, and more.

 


1 – Corn Man, Lincoln Heights

There is a beloved Mexican street food called elote. And one of the most popular places for this Mexican street-style corn on the cob is available in Lincoln Heights.

Delicious hot corn on the cob served with mayonnaise, butter, cheese, and cayenne pepper.

The one-man show that is Corn Man has been selling Mexican style corn for almost 30 years and most in the know agree it is the best in town.

Find this popular Mexican style corn every night from 9:30 pm until 1:00 am where you can choose sweet corn, regular or in a bowl.

Ready for some hot fried chicken? These types of sandwiches have taken over the city in recent years and you can come to Hot Motha Clucker for some authentic options of the crispy chicken plate, a fried chicken sandwich, or sliders with your choice of hot spicy level flavor.

This is a Nashville hot chicken inspired restaurant, so if you enjoy those famous crispy chicken sandwiches but you likely won’t have hours to wait in line like some of the other local Nashville chicken hot spots.

Also, it’s not just the chicken that makes people keep coming back their loaded fries are pretty popular too.

Central Texas-style BBQ is available in Redondo Beach! You probably already know that usually to get authentic Texas BBQ you would have to actually travel to the Lone Star State.

However, Bartz BBQ is one of the most authentic Texas-style BBQ places you can find in Los Angeles and they have some delicious flavors here without having to leave town.

Although small parties are always welcome here for dining, their specialty is catering, so you can stop by or call in big orders for your next gathering and treat your guests to some tasty smoked ribs on party day.

4 – Leos Taco Trucks

Description:

Clearly Los Angeles’s most popular food is tacos and if you have any doubt just look how crazy people are for Taco Tuesdays!

With so many great choices our recommendation for the best street taco is Leo’s taco truck. Its classic, simple but delicious street tacos style with lots of flavor for not much dinero.

Our favorites: pastor, of course, and chorizo y Asada but they also have some good carnitas, pollo, and other traditional meats.

In the mood for even more? Not to worry, Leo’s taco truck has a full menu that has many other Mexican traditional favorites beyond just tacos.

They also have burritos, tortas, Hawaiian tortas, quesadillas, tostadas and much more.

Also, they offer favorite traditional Mexican drinks like horchatas and frescos.

5 – Dollar Hits, Pinoy Street Food

Dollar Hits Pinoy Street Food

Description:

Located in historic Filipino town, here is a popular Filipino street food option that will make your tastebuds scream for joy.

Dollar Hits is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, this is a grab and go style spot and food truck.  This is your go-to spot if you are in LA and serious about authentic Filipino street food.

If you are not familiar with Filipino food you will need to be adventurous and take some chances with some of the options like thick and creamy large pork intestine.

Or you can play it save with some hot delicious chicken skewers.

Don’t hesitate to check it out if you like authentic street food.  This is one of the few places in Los Angeles you can still get food for a buck!
