1 – Lake Shrine Realization

Want to start the New Year meditating? The Lake Shrine is a breathtaking 10-acre space full of beauty all around and is just a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean.
A perfect spot for finally adding regular meditation to your life.
As we have mentioned in other posts, The lake is right off crazy busy Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades but you would never know that when inside the confines of the tranquil grounds.
A great option for some YOU time and making your new resolutions.

2 – Marina Peninsula Beach
Description:
Yes of course, exercise will make it to the New Year’s resolution, and what better place to start with but visiting the popular Marina Peninsula Beach. This beach is clean and the water is calm so you can find lots of options for paddle boarding, paddle board yoga etc.
Also, looking over at family friendly and tranquil Mother’s Beach may help inspire you to reach for some awesome resolutions this year.
Then after all that thinking, indulge yourself with a good meal from one of the many restaurants near by.

One thing we really like about this beach is even though it is way calmer and quieter than the nearby Venice Pier it also has a sandy beach.
You get to enjoy your toes in the sand and the Ocean breeze in your face minus the crowds of people.
3 – Vista Hermosa Park
Description:
This has long been one of our favorite parks but it still seems relatively unknown to most keeping it pretty peaceful. A perfect tranquil place for you to think about your new goals and make them real!
Vista Hermosa in Echo Park, features jaw-dropping vistas of Downtown Los Angeles. If you have heard of this park then you have also likely heard of its famous bench where you can sit and appreciate all the beauty of the city while you make your New Year’s resolution.

Every one is of course drawn to the famous bench with beautiful view of Downtown. But after you have captured your pics (you may have to wait for others) don’t miss out on what else the magnificent park has to offer. There are walking trails, meadows and a peaceful stream to enjoy.
4 – The Intercontinental DTLA

What better way to plan your New Year’s resolutions than with a delicious cocktail and amazing views of the city, right?
And that is why Spire 73 Downtown made our list.

Spires 73 offers a special Table Side S’more service of marshmallow, honey graham cracker and milk chocolate bar you can melt over the fire pits on the rooftop. 5 – Wayfarer Chapel
Description:
The Wayfarer Chapel is a stunning place where you can get the calmness needed to clear your mind and get your thoughts straight.
The grounds that hold Wayfarers (also known as the glass church) are located in the hills above the Ocean in gorgeous Rancho Palos Verdes.
Find a bench inside the chapel our in the outdoor grounds and write away your New Year’s goals or enjoy the beauty of the outdoor landscaping.
The chapel is open daily to the public Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except during events.
Outdoor area is always open for everyone.

All those beautiful cliff and ocean views you enjoyed from your elevated location at Wayfarers? You can hike them! After finalizing your goals for the New Years cross the street and do some more active thinking with some of the best hiking in SoCal.
