Our Favorite LA Laid Back Beach Cafes

Oh sweet Los Angeles. You spoil us in so many ways but one of our favorites is with your seemingly endless supply of awesome laid back beach cafes!

What could be better than a brunch and mimosas that come with an amazing ocean view? Or cocktails and dinner just feet from the beach or your toes actually in the sand?

You will feel like you are on an exotic vacation with a visit to a Los Angeles laid back Beach cafe. And in this article we show you some of the best.


1 – Neptunes Net

Neptunes Net Malibu

Description:

First opening in the 1950s this well-known Malibu landmark bar and restaurant continues to offer customers beer and food with an amazing view.

It has appeared in many popular Hollywood films including Point Break, Fast and Furious and Iron Man 3.

Neptunes Net has two separate kitchens, one side in which you can enjoy easy fried bites and beverages.

The other side steps it up a bit as you can get beer on draft and find fresh and live seafood.

Either way you will be close to the Pacific and loving life!

Neptunes Net draws a diverse and  interesting crowd from tourists, surfers, bikers and the super-rich which makes for some awesome people watching.

Grab a cup of their famous clam chowder sit on the bench and enjoy some great people watching to go with your Ocean views.


2 – Back on the Beach Cafe

Back on the Beach Cafe

Description:

A true beach cafe with your toes actually digging in the sand as you eat and your eyes locked on those gorgeous Ocean views.  If you prefer the view without the sand they also have indoor seating.

If you love eating on the beach its a great place to come for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Enjoy delicious flavors from their menu, like their popular huevos rancheros or the North African shakshuka which is a house made lamb sausage served with eggs, tomato, pepper stew and feta cheese.

Back on the Beach Cafe is right next to the amazing Annenberg Pool Beach House. Its a former mansion right on Santa Monica Beach that is now open for Public swims with reservations.

After an awesome swim day at Annenberg you can go next door for lunch at Back on the Beach Cafe.

 


3 – The Rose Cafe, Venice

Description:

The Rose Cafe is actually a few blocks away from the water but we included this chic and casual spot because its one of the most Instaworthy cafes in LA and has a lot to offer.

You can see by how crowded it always is how much its loved by the Venice locals who love to work from this comfy spot.

Market counter and bakery, coffee bar, indoor dining as well as an outdoor patio, beer garden and a 40 foot cocktail bar, we are sure you’ll find something you will like at the Rose Cafe.

If you cant stand to leave your pooch at home while you enjoy drinks near the beach this is the cafe for you. The Rose offers not one but two dog friendly patios!

 


4 – Shutters on the Beach

Description:

This beautiful cafe and bar is part of the Santa Monica Beach Hotel.  What makes it such a popular choice is the specatular location right on the Santa Monica Strand.

A more upscale location they are also well know for their superior customer service and of course those unbeatable views.

Its a litte pricey but they have frequent specials like Taco Thursday, Burgers and Beers, Summer Rose Bar, Brunch and Happy hour.

like we mentioned Shutters is right on the Santa Monica strand. Work off your brunch by jumping on a bike and riding just a few minutes on the path to the famous Santa Monica Pier.


5 – The Strand House, Manhattan Beach

Description:

This beatiful upscale bar and restaurant pleases all who enter with its 180 degrees views of the coast as well as direct view of the famous Manhattan Beach Pier.

The view is not the only reason to come however as they will delight your palate with flavorful food and tasty wine.

Local ingredients make their way into the chefs menus, for brunch, lunch, dinner and desserts so you can be sure your meal is not only tasty but fresh.  The Strand House is also well known for a great list of high quality wines and cocktails.

After dinner and drinks at Shutters make sure you stay for the gorgesou sunset. There are few restaurants in Los Angeles that have a better sunset veiw than the one offered here by Shutters just feet from the Manhattan Beach Pier.
