Elysian Park Swing

Reach for the heavens while taking in a spectacular one of a kind view of DTLA at Elysian Park and it’s ‘secret swing’ on top of Angels Point.

Important UPDATE: The Swing in Elysian Park was taken down in early 2020! The branch was cut down and we confirmed with an in-person visit.

However… sometime in mid 2021 a swing was put back up! Its not quite the same but you can still get on it and enjoy the views from the top.

Here is a picture of what the swing at Elysian Park looks like as of December 2021.

Reach for the heavens while taking in a spectacular one of a kind view of downtown Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium at Elysian Park and it’s ‘secret swing’ on top of Angels Point.

There are many amazing vantage points high above the city where we can go to take in all its massive and breathtaking beauty. But Angels Point in Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium offers a rewarding adventure and a unique surprise after the short but steep hike to the top.

There you will find a “secret swing” to enjoy peacefully in the clouds above all the craziness of the City of Angels.

To get to the swing you have to climb a short but steep hill. This video from YouTube has a pretty good description on the Elysian Park Hidden Swing and how to reach it.

  1. Recent visit

Just visited (7/24/21) and no swing 🙁 tough hike – very steep but at the top it’s nice and flat. Good view of the highway and houses but other than that I’d skip this hike and pick a different one.

  2. The swing comes and goes

The swing was in place in November 2021. Visiting on January 23, 2022 it is gone again, cut down. This seems to be the cycle here. Do-gooders vs. Do-badders. Hopefully a group of the former will return here soon.
